See legends come to life this February half term as we explore all things fantastical about life beneath the waves!
From the sea, to the storybooks, and back to the sea again, so many myths originate from the aquatic world.

The unicorn tang of the Indo-Pacific ocean is known for its horn protruding from the top of its head, from which it gets its namesake. But did you know that another oceanic creature, the narwhal, is thought to be the origin of the unicorn myth?

The iconic spiralling tusks of these animals were treasured by churches and royals all across Europe during the middle ages, and were highly sought after for their supposed healing properties.

From the 15th February – 2nd March we will be delving in to stories like these, where fantasy meets fact under the waves.
From under the arctic ice to rainforest canopies, learn about habitats around planet Earth that seem like a different world.
Mythical beasts have broken through a portal from storyland, and they are escaping into the aquarium. Can you find them all?

Meet our magical mermaid, she will be in her mystical grotto between 10am and 3pm (with a short break at midday) from the 15th – 23rd February.

(Please note: our mermaid does not swim in our tanks, but will be in her grotto for meet and greets and pictures.)

Join us every day at 12 in our rear foyer to make some mad mushrooms and jazzy jellyfish at our craft workshop.

All included in your ticket!
